The Prototype

This is the final prototype of the design, it is currently functional, and accomplishes most of the tasks we were required to complete.

 

Power Amplifier Schematic

The Prototype all wired up and with the Carrier plate attached.

Prototype Capabilites

  • Closed-loop output power control from 0W to 5.4W

  • Dual band operation using a VHF and a UHF PA

  • System operates on 7.2 Volts

  • Adjustable reflected power protection

  • Production BOM cost: $43.30

  • First VHF harmonic down by >40 dB from fundamental (diplexer tested on network analyzer)

  • First UHF harmonic down by >50 dB from fundamental (diplexer tested on network analyzer)
