The wireless and control circuitry consists of an RN-41 BlueTooth module connected via a USART connection to the ATMega328p microcontroller. This circuitry includes a MAX232 DB-9 interface to the circuit for troubleshooting and future development.
This bus demultiplexing circuit prevents bus contention between the bed controller and the micro-controller. The micro-controller drives an enable line that will switch whether the bus is driven by the micro-controller or the bed pendant. The bed pendant has default master operation.
