Introduction

We are the Blue Team in the Robot Car Racing senior design project. The goal of this project is to modify the existing EELE 101 robot car to complete the EELE 101 race faster than the stock car. Every team gets a robot car kit that includes an Arduino microcontroller, sensors, and servo motors. The teams are allowed to modify the car in any way they wish as long as it’s under the $250 total budget, the ECE department will supplement $125 of the budget to each team.

Motivation

Our motivation is to integrate mechanical and electrical engineering design to build an autonomous robot car that will win a race against other senior design teams. Our team is comprised solely of computer engineers and we are very interested in embedded system design making this project an excellent challenge of our skills and abilities. This project is also making us branch out into in-depth mechanical design as we modify almost every existing system on the EELE 101 car.
