Scientific Materials is offering a tour of their Bozeman site for 12 students. They specialize in manufacturing
high-purity low-loss laser materials, and
Teledyne FLIR as a whole is known for manufacturing imaging systems (especially thermal cameras).
In order to ensure they are not exporting any protected technology or information
to unapproved parties, they are running background checks on all students who sign
up for the tour. They are also requiring everyone to bring their passport or ID/birth certificate with
them on the day of the tour. Unfortunately, only US citizens are allowed to tour the site.
If you are interested in joining us, please fill out our
RSVP form by April 1st.
The RSVP form lists the accepted IDs that will be needed on the day of the tour.

VACOM Tour with MPQA
Saturday, April 5th

The Montana Photonics and Quantum Alliance (MPQA) is inviting OPS members to tour
VACOM’s cleanroom in Lewistown, MT, on Saturday, April 5th. There will be carpooling, and
MPQA is currently working on the logistics. If you are interested in attending, reach

ops.bozeman@gmail.com for more details, and we will put you in touch with the organizers. The schedule
for the trip is included below:
9:00 AM: Leave MSU
11:45 AM: Lunch provided by VACOM - location TBD
12:15 PM: Presentation by VACOM
1:30 PM: Tour of the Clean Room Facility
3:00 PM: Wrap up
3:30 PM: TBD -
5:00 PM: Depart for Bozeman
7:45 PM: Arrive at MSU
